I am a jewellery designer with over 13 years of professional practice, working at the intersection of craft, luxury, and design strategy.
Dhaatu Design was founded in 2018 as a response to my belief that meaningful change can emerge from the simplest design interventions.
Over the years, I have conceptualised, executed, and led design interventions for diverse contexts, including UPLIFT MSDF, Asia’s largest livelihood development project—where design functioned as a tool for social and systemic impact.
While luxury lifestyle products have been my primary domain for more than a decade, my design consultancy currently spans Canada, the UK, and India, engaging across cultures and scales.
Social design forms a core part of my portfolio, informing both my professional practice and my approach to education.
As a design educator, I actively experiment with pedagogical methods that help students identify and strengthen their unique design capabilities. Classroom outcomes are envisioned not as academic endpoints, but as patents, copyrights, industry-transforming interventions, and award-winning start-ups.
My current research focuses on artisanship, crafts, student learning, and design pedagogy, exploring how traditional knowledge systems intersect with contemporary design education and practice.
